Our History

In 1923, Spivey and Nichols Printing Company opened in West Point, Georgia. Shortly thereafter Mr. Ed Spivey became owner and the name was changed to Spivey Printing Company. In 1941, Mr. William D Yates, Sr. was employed. Mr. Yates and his brother-in-law, Mr. Kenner Barnes purchased the business in 1946 and the name was changed to Yates-Barnes Printing Company. In 1954, they relocated to its present location location at 731 North Lanier Avenue in Lanett, Alabama. Years later in 1972, Mr. William D. Yates, Jr. purchased the business from his father and at that time the name was changed to Yates Printing Company.

In 1997, with a combined total of over 40 years experience in printing, the families of Rita Lane and Randall Maddux purchased the business and changed the name to Yates Printing & Office Supplies, Inc.

We are thankful for the heritage of Yates Printing and we will always remember those to whom we learned so much and who gave us such a solid foundation to build upon.
